Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department responded to a stretch of Garth Road at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, where there was a report of a man who appeared to be suffering from an alleged overdose by a passerby.
According to police, upon arrival, officers found Mamaroneck resident Michael Lauro, 30, who was allegedly operating his 2002 Honda Civic while under the influence of drugs. Further investigation found that Lauro had multiple previous convictions for allegedly driving while impaired.
Scarsdale Police Capt. Edward Murphy said that Lauro was arrested DWAI by drugs with two prior convictions, a felony. It was unclear what type of drugs he was on at the time of his arrest. Lauro was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and is expected to appear at court this week.
